As a Licensed Practical Nurse you will primarily be responsible for providing health assessments to the youth in our care.
The schedule for this position is Tuesday - Saturday 1PM - 9PM
Essential Functions:
- Interviews patients about current problems, medications, and allergies and reviews medical record for pertinent information
- Participates in patient treatment regimen, including administering medications under the supervision of a Physician and Registered Nurse
- Establishes and documents treatment regimen under supervision of RN or MD and implements treatment
- Performs routine immunizations, nebulizer treatments, and visual acuity testing, and administers and reads TB tests
- Assists in phlebotomy: identifies patient, checks requisition form for requested tests, and prepares equipment, patient and puncture site
- Assists in IV set-up: verifying solution to be administered, evaluating infusion site, checking IV function and patient comfort, and discontinuing IV at appropriate time, as ordered by MD
- Maintains adequate inventory of examination room supplies and prepares exam rooms at the beginning and end of day and between each patient contact.
- Performs variety of office responsibilities, including answering phones and taking messages
- Performs triage within scope of Licensed Practical Nursing Practice in an accurate and timely manner
- Facilitates and assists in the coordination of patient referrals
- Participates in the orientation and training of new personnel
- Models Center's expectation for sensitivity and competency relating to diversity and cultural awareness
Experience/ Education:
- LPN License required
- First Aid and CPR certification required
- 1 year of related experience. Pediatric experience preferred
- 1 year of phlebotomy experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) capabilities required
Actual pay rates are dependent on education and experience
