The Providence Center helps adults, adolescents and children affected by psychiatric illnesses, emotional problems and addictions by providing treatment and supportive services within a community setting.
- Screen, triage and assess clients admitted to the program.
- Perform nursing duties in accordance with appropriate medical protocol.
- Implement the consumer plan of care, including evaluation of the consumer's response to the plan of care and updating the plan based on consumer's response.
- Administer medications per doctor orders.
- Monitor lab results to validate medication compliance.
- Collaborate with the staff members in providing care to consumers.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with consumers, staff and the public.
- Attend trainings, case presentations and conferences. May be asked to share on call with other nursing and program staff.
- Perform record-keeping in accordance with Health Information Services and other Center and MHRH requirements.
- Assess and evaluate patient health care data collected through interviewing, observation, record review, and peer and team input in order to use sound clinical judgment in the treatment planning process.
- Position may require driving. Must have valid driver's license, current inspection sticker, registration and insured auto.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Rhode Island Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Experience with addictions populations require. Experience with managed care populations and UR a must. Knowledge and experience with psychotropic medication, and ability to work well with professionals from other disciplines in a team approach.
Would preferred, but NOT required to be completely fluent in Khmer OR Spanish with the ability to interpret when required.
