We are seeking an eager and dedicated Pediatric or Family Practice (with pediatric focus) Nurse Practitioner to serve in a newly created full-time position that will care for patients at our newest health center locations in Anaheim and Orange, California.

  • Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Committed to providing high-quality care to underserved patients in central Orange County, California.
  • Pediatric care comprises the bulk of care, including Well-Baby/Child Checks and Sick Visits.
  • Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, and management of healthcare needs, utilizing standardized and evidenced based processes.
  • This position reports to our Pediatrician, Pediatrics Supervisor.
  • St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers utilizes EPIC for our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Ambulatory (outpatient) care environment
  • Daytime work schedule, with after-hours call for critical labs

Our health centers use a team-based model of care that includes family medicine, obstetrics, women’s health, oral and vision care, preventative and educational health, mental health, patient advocacy, case management, and community health. Most of our patients live below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, and are best served in Spanish. Through our origins with Providence St. Joseph Health, we have provided care to low-income families since the 1980s, maintaining a commitment to serving our most vulnerable neighbors with high-quality, nationally recognized care. Your Working Environment & Team. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM – 5PM. It does require working one Saturday per month for which a weekday is flexed off. You would be joining a team of family physicians, nurse practitioners, RNs, pediatricians, OB-GYNs, dentists, specialists (optometrist, podiatrist), licensed clinical social workers, mental health professionals, case managers, health educators, registered dietitians, LVNs, and promotoras. This position is assigned to two locations; these locations are approximately 5 miles apart (Orange location is near to St. Joseph Hospital / Anaheim location is in the Ponderosa Park neighborhood).

Salary Range:

Working 5 Days Per Week = $134,300.00 – $155,000.00

Working 4 Days Per Week = $107,440.00 - $124,000.00

Requirements:

Education:
Masters Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

License/ Certifications:

  • Certification from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner Furnishing number issues by the California Board of Registered Nurses.
  • Valid California Registered Nurse/ Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Provider level basic life support (BLS) from AHA approved program.
  • DEA Certification.
  • Drivers' License in good standing with clean driving record.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months in an ambulatory or community setting
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in EMR Systems
  • Proficient in computer programs and systems, including email, internet, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledgeable in applying evidenced-based medicine to treat and diagnosis. Demonstrated ability in applying methods of scientific inquiry and exercising of clinical judgment in challenging situations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Demonstrates the ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish fluently without an interpreter, preferred.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, remaining current on medical practices and professional credentialing and licensure necessary for continuous employment with St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal/cultural sensitivity and work with a diverse population.
