- At least 1 year of medical assisting experience required!
Candidate must meet the following responsibilities:
- Obtaining vital signs and weights of patients, taking medication and supplement history, and preparing patients to be seen and evaluated by all health care providers working in the office
- In-office HbA1C and Hb testing
- Phlebotomy for laboratory testing
- Instructing patients on the technique of subcutaneous and IM drug administration
- Subcutaneous/intramuscluar drug administration
- Downloading blood records, when applicable
- Preparation of injectables, and oral medication.
- Maintaining an accurate log of medications and, if necessary, contacting the appropriate pharmaceutical representative to ensure adequate supply.
In addition, the duties of the Employee may also include:
- Enter patient’s information into Software
- Maintain consult rooms and waiting room clean and presentable
- Answer phone calls and send faxes efficiently and in a timely fashion
- Patient scheduling and staffing logistics
- Computer entry/Scanning
- Update inventory for supplements and medications
- Filing charts and reports both in electronic medical record and standard chart
- Schedule tests and appointments
- Obtaining outside medical records/test results in a fashion that is compliant with HIPPA regulations
