To manage production facilities for broadcasting interactive instructional television for students and video recording; consult with faculty to develop and produce video instruction; perform related work.

Example of Duties


1. Video production. Typical responsibilities: provides support for audiovisual equipment and computers associated with Video Interactive Classrooms and classroom instruction; provide technical assistance to equipment users; requires walking sometimes long distances around campus, and entering small and sometimes difficult spaces.

2. Consultation. Typical responsibilities: trains faculty in video environment; work within a team environment on projects and tasks as assigned; interfacing with customers and demonstrated customer service skills.

3. Supervision. Typical responsibilities: hires, schedules, directs, and evaluates performance of students; trains staff in operation of technical equipment; maintains facility equipment and supply inventory.


Minimum Qualifications

Good Knowledge of:
  • Principles and techniques of digital video production.

Experience:
  • Operating a variety of video production equipment, such as video switcher, audio mixer, microphone, and video camera;
  • Supervising to include assigning work, providing work direction and monitoring work quality;
  • Using personal computers and standard software including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Incumbents may be required to work varied schedules to meet production needs.
