LOCATION: Columbia County, NY (29 miles West of Albany, NY)
Requirements
Minimum of an Associate’s degree
At least 1 year of experience in an academic environment supporting at-risk students and/or special education programs.
Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Ability to converse fluently in English and Spanish.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Responsibilities
Assist classroom teachers in facilitating lesson plan instructions to students, including 1:1 and small group assistance when necessary.
Provide input and help facilitate social and emotional learning components of lesson plans.
Observe, implement, monitor, and complete specific reports regarding student performance and behaviors in the classroom (i.e. Critical Incident Reports, Reflection Reports, Daily Logs).
Grade appropriate academic tests under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
Provide pre-crisis intervention and conflict resolution with students, including implementing and using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) principles, approved behavior modification techniques/strategies, and physical restraints.
