High School Spanish Teacher

Mount St. Mary Academy, an all-girls high school in Kenmore, NY, has an opening for a Spanish teacher, beginning in April 2023. This position may be extended into new academic year (2023-2024).

This is a long-term substitute full-time position with a daily rate minimally at $140/day with a Bachelor's degree and in the first year teaching, but it is anticipated to be at a higher rate with previous Spanish teaching experience and/or education.

The applicant will have demonstrated content knowledge and pedagogic skill relative to Spanish. In addition to proficiency in all secondary levels of Spanish, a history of collaborating with other educators as well as the ability to maintain and adapt existing curricula to meet the ever changing needs of students is required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using a variety of teaching strategies and assessment tools to focus on the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and have a passion for educating young women.

The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrate a desire to be involved in the school community beyond the classroom, and an enthusiasm for the school's mission as a Catholic all-girls college preparatory school.
