General Spanish Interpreter

YOU MUST RESIDE IN Massachusetts and be able to go ONSITE!

As a professional interpreter, you will provide an invaluable service to community members by providing on-site interpretation services. Baystate Interpreters, Inc. allows for flexibility within your schedule by offering per diem assignments at competitive rates. Baystate Interpreters, Inc., located in Gardner, MA provides professional interpreting and translation services in over 150 languages. Our accredited staff are well-versed in legal, medical, business and education interpreting services on a simultaneous and consecutive basis. All of our services are provided with the highest standard of professionalism, ethics and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret between English and (applicable) languages.
• Maintain the appropriate tone of voice while observing cultural nuances
• Maintain professionalism through attitude and interpreting service standards
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
• Respond to the interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to the conventions of established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in English and (applicable) languages
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to remain calm and compassionate when dealing with difficult individuals and crisis situations
• Flexible availability
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy during interpretation
• Understanding and implementation of HIPAA protocols
• All experience and skill levels encouraged to apply

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
