Medical Interpreter (Spanish)

Looking for a Medical Interpreter (Spanish) to provide verbal and written language interpretation for patients, families, and medical staff. Competitive compensation based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides complete and accurate interpretation for patients, families, and staff to facilitate clear communication.
• Assists patients, families, and staff with translation of forms and commonly used medical terminology.
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and renders unbiased interpretation to ensure an accurate exchange of information.
• Adheres to professional ethics and standards of practice for Medical Interpreters, HIPAA, and other compliance requirements.
• Manages time productively. Responds to requests in a timely manner and provides staff with an estimated time of arrival for interpretation services.
• Keeps accurate records of time and interpretation encounters.
• Provide translation services from English to Spanish and vice versa. Completes translation assignments with a high degree of accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written competency of Spanish and English.
• Proficiency of medical terminology in both languages.
• Works effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Successful completion of an accredited, professional training course on medical interpreting.
• 2 years of experience as a professional medical interpreter.
• College degree in translation and interpreting services preferred.
• Completion of medical terminology course preferred.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
