Spanish Interpreter (Part-time position)

Provide interpretation services to facilitate communication between healthcare providers, patients and their families who have limited English proficiency.

• Must be fluent in the Spanish and English language.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
• Maintain complete confidentiality of information (including PHI) of children and their families.
• Interpret (including translation as needed) exactly what is communicated by the provider and or family, without adding information or personal suggestions/opinions without permission of the speaker or writer as relevant.
• Familiarity with cultural nuances and sensitivity to diverse populations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and the medical staff.
• Previous experience in working with children/families with developmental disabilities or complex medical conditions preferred.
• Previous experience as a medical interpreter or in a related filed preferred.
