LOCATION: Columbia County, NY (29 miles West of Albany, NY)

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree
• At least 1 year of experience in an academic environment supporting at-risk students and/or special education programs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to converse fluently in English and Spanish.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in facilitating lesson plan instructions to students, including 1:1 and small group assistance when necessary.
• Provide input and help facilitate social and emotional learning components of lesson plans.
• Observe, implement, monitor, and complete specific reports regarding student performance and behaviors in the classroom (i.e. Critical Incident Reports, Reflection Reports, Daily Logs).
• Grade appropriate academic tests under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
• Provide pre-crisis intervention and conflict resolution with students, including implementing and using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) principles, approved behavior modification techniques/strategies, and physical restraints.
