Intent to Employ / Job Description:
Position: High School SPANISH Teacher On-Site.
Serving Fayette County Public Schools
Job Summary:
The High School Spanish Teacher provides services as an employee of STAFFEZ serving the district of Fayette County Public Schools. The responsibilities of a high school educator are creating lesson plans, differentiating instruction, instructing students according to the state standards, collaborating with other teachers, staff, and administration in addressing classroom issues and curriculum, organizing, and managing the learning environment, monitoring student progress, and providing interventions.
Starting Date:
  • Immediate Until Filled.
Work Year, Hours & Compensation:
  • Hours vary depending on the assignment.
  • Pay based on experience and educational qualifications $40.00 - $56.00 per hour, 175 days per year.
  • FSLA: Non-Exempt.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Professionally represent the District and STAFFEZ by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level.
  • Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive supportive, and cooperative way.
  • Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required, or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position.
  • Provide an instructional program that is differentiated.
  • Commitment to high student achievement & support for all students.
  • Knowledge of the subject matter being taught.
  • Ability to exercise various teaching strategies to increase students’ critical thinking skills.
  • Create a secure classroom climate and respond to inquiries from a variety of sources.
  • Instruct students to improve their success in academics through a defined course of study.
  • Administer and develop subject-specific assessments to assess student competency levels and/or develop an individual learning plan.
  • Participate in a variety of meetings and professional development activities to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions.
  • Monitors students in a variety of educational environments to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
  • Prepares a variety of written materials to document student progress and meet mandated requirements.
  • Supports other classroom teachers to assist them in the implementation of established curriculum and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Responds to emergencies to resolve immediate safety concerns and/or direct to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and monitor student success as your goal.
  • Use available technology in your lessons.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of the required Global Compliance Network online training modules.
  • Demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communications.
  • Must meet criminal history background requirements (requires FBI Fingerprint and/or drug test).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
  • Holding appropriate Tennessee certification license.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Effective decision-making and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be Highly Qualified in this area.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional climbing of steps.
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
  • Potential supervision of students outside in all types of weather.
  • Depending on the assignment, may involve more physical activity, e.g., Physical Education classes, preschool, or special education assignments.
