San Miguel High School, a Cristo Rey Network of high school delivers a career focused, college preparatory education in the Catholic, Lasallian tradition for students with limited economic resources. Position Summary
Join an innovating, dynamic, and mission-based school which values our faculty and students. Members of San Miguel High School faculty are primarily responsible for
Instructional planning and preparation
Conducting relationships with students and their families in a multicultural and multi-religious environment of respect and rapport.
Conducting oneself as a person of integrity and ethical conduct, in service to the changing needs of young people and their families.
Managing classroom procedures and student behavior.
Using a variety of assessment methods and techniques to determine student mastery of content and skills, and to provide feedback to students about their progress.
What You’ll Do
Motivate student interest in the study of the Spanish language.
Develop rigorous lessons in a Spanish class through a culturally relevant lens for predominantly first generation and from under-resourced communities in Tucson, Arizona.
Incorporate the Lasallian Core Principles and pedagogy in order to design more effective classroom experiences.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in instructional practice in response to student learning needs.
Have familiarity with a wide range of primary and secondary sources in the field of Spanish literature and composition.
Demonstrate design coherence in instructional planning, assessment, and student learning.
Communicate across a variety of media and in a variety of interpersonal settings with colleagues, students, and parents.
Integrate into a collegial community of teaching and learning experts.
Have content knowledge of the Spanish language, literature and composition and pedagogical knowledge in instructional practice at the secondary level.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master’s Degree preferred to teach Dual Enrolment course and must complete state certification within the first two years.
State of Arizona teacher certificate strongly preferred.
