Position Overview:
- Bilingual Spanish and English REQUIRED.
- The candidate must be able to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently.
- The front desk associate works directly with patients and physicians to provide customer service for patients.
- The front desk associate will gather patient information, schedule appointments, collect payments, and may assist with the call center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and register patients according to established protocols.
- Assist patients to complete all forms and documentation including medical insurance.
- Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information.
- Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy.
- Ensuring availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records.
- Move patients through appointments as scheduled.
- Answer incoming calls and assist with inquiries.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Collect payments.
- Consistent review of physician schedules, with minimal reschedules.
- Obtain external medical reports and maintain patient records as required by medical professionals.
- Respond and comply with requests for information.
- Register patients with copay assistance foundations.
- Maintain a clean and neat reception area.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal customer service skills, including effective listening, clear verbal and written communication, problem solving skills.
- Ability to master multiple software systems to input and retrieve data.
- Ability to master ophthalmology and retina terminology.
- Read, write, and speak Spanish fluently.
Set clinic hours are M - F, 8 am - 5 pm. FT hours are preferred.
Some overtime hours may be required.
