Program Description: Family Reunification Program

Lincoln Hall's Family Reunification Program focuses on minors' safety, education, well-being, and self-sufficiency in their care. Services are based on state child welfare requirements and ORR regulations and policies.

Position Description – Youth Counselor

Under the supervision of the Cottage Supervisor, the Youth Counselor is responsible for all aspects of the 24-hour out-of-home treatment program, including the provision of a safe, therapeutic environment for youth, employees, and visitors to campus. The Youth Counselor will function as part of a team with Youth Counselors to ensure the safety and therapeutic milieu of the Treatment Environment and in cooperation with leadership from other areas of the Agency. Areas of treatment include recreation, independent living, a therapeutic milieu, and regular attendance at work.

Position Responsibilities

The Youth Counselor will provide direct supervision for youth and assistance to other Youth Counselors to ensure the implementation of all program expectations, including the establishment of a safe, therapeutic environment, the complete use of TCI, including Post-Crisis Response techniques, and verification of data collected for reporting practices to Family Services (OCFS) and Office of Refugee Resettlement, program handbook, and other areas of oversight as required by agency contract or regulatory authority.


Position Requirements

  • Must be Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree / Associate degree in Psychology,
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Must have tact, discretion, and experience handling sensitive and confidential information,
  • while maintaining a professional approach. Must be calm in emergencies.


Salary:
$21.50

Job Type: Full-time /Non-Exempt

Shifts: (DAYS) SUN-WED / WED – SAT 2p – 10:30p (Weekdays), 8am – 10p (Weekends)

(OVERNIGHT) SUN – WED / WED-SAT 10p – 8 am


Working Conditions:

The 40-hour workweek, with regular attendance at work and availability for flexible scheduling
