Job Location: Essex County

Job Responsibilities:

As a Therapist/Clinician in our Community Connections program, you will be at the forefront of change, providing essential support to families involved with the Department of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) and New Jersey Children's System of Care (CSOC). Your role includes:

Providing Quality Clinical Support: Deliver top-notch clinical and treatment services in the comfort of clients' homes and communities. Applying Expertise: Utilize your deep knowledge and sound judgment in clinical processes, including trauma-informed approaches, to empower clients on their journey to mental health and substance use recovery. Supporting Families: Be a lifeline for families connected with DCP&P and CSOC, offering tailored interventions and assistance. Comprehensive Assessment: Conduct thorough intake assessments and ongoing follow-ups to monitor risks. Goal Setting: Help clients establish goals and strategies to enhance self-sufficiency, with referrals when necessary. Trauma-Informed Care: Integrate trauma-informed approaches to support mental health and substance use recovery. Differentiating and Intervening: Recognize the difference between normal development and pathological adaptations, initiating appropriate interventions. Crisis Management: Showcase your ability to employ suitable interventions in both crisis and non-crisis scenarios. Versatile Approaches: Adapt your approach to meet clients' unique needs, whether it's individual, family, couples, in-home, or crisis intervention. Collaboration: Advocate, coordinate, and maintain ongoing contact with other providers involved in clients' care. Documenting Success: Ensure adherence to documentation requirements and actively participate in weekly supervision and team meetings.

Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you should:

Embrace Cultural Competency: Align with Family Connections' mission and serve diverse communities. Hold a Valid NJ Driver's License. Possess a Master's Degree in Social Work or equivalent in human services. Full licensure, such as LCSW, LPC, or state licensure/certification specific to your degree, is required. Bring at least Two Years of Experience in Mental Health. ‍‍‍ Be familiar with diverse populations, particularly in an urban setting. Understand the child welfare system and complex trauma. Exhibit Cultural Competency and some experience with children and families.
