Position Title: Medical Assistant


Responsibilities include:


  • Maintain patient medical history, vital statistics and test results in EMR system
  • Experienced in Phlebotomy, Scribing, EMR Charting, EKG and Point of Care Tests
  • Manage incoming calls, delivering compassionate support and assistance to patients
  • Perform insurance verification and obtain prior authorizations
  • Schedule patient appointments with Nurse Practitioners
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA and OSHA

Requirements:


  • Certificate from a Medical Assistant Program
  • Bilingual: Spanish / Creole / Russian
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in using EMR systems
  • Understanding of patient care and medical terminology
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization and customer service skills
