Per Diem Physician (Diabetes Management) - Bilingual Spanish
Job Location: Metro NYC and New Jersey (Mix of telehealth and onsite)
Job Type: Per Diem, 1099 contract
Pay Rate: $55 per appointment (20 minutes long)
Schedule: 1-2 days/week, flexible; dayshift; Start date in February 2024

Full Description

VitalCheck Wellness is seeking a Spanish speaking Physician to provide diabetes management programs to some of our clients in Metro NYC and NJ area. The Physician will work directly with pre-diabetic or early-stage diabetes patients on a multi-week program to help improve their wellness and lifestyle. Our office arranges the patient appointments and does the administrative work, giving you the time and luxury to provide clinical one-on-one patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide general wellness checkups.
• Provide diabetes management program to patients based on our program guideline.
• Consult with patients to understand their health concerns especially around diabetes.
• Educate patients around healthy eating and lifestyle.
• Educate patients around glucose monitoring.
• Advise/refer patients for follow-up care.
• Be the collaborating Physician for the NP on the program.

Requirements:

• MD or DO degree.
• Minimum 3-5 years of work experience following post graduate training.
• Current license to practice in the state of NJ and NY. NJ/NY local candidates that can be onsite sometimes preferred.
• Background in internal medicine, family practice, preventive care and endocrinology preferred.
• Must speak fluent Spanish.
• Experience with diabetes management.
• Preventive medicine oriented.
• Patient education driven.
• Must be proficient with computers, customer service-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable with blood draw when needed.
• DOT certification would be a plus.
