Job Description: We are seeking a full-time Bilingual Attorney with Special Education experience to represent children with disabilities. In this role, you will attend Individualized Educational Program (IEP) meetings, mediations, hearings, write complaints and be a crucial member of our legal team. This is a hybrid role; 75% remote and 25% travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in virtual, telephonic, or in person client meetings;
  • Attend IEP meetings;
  • Communicate with various stakeholders, such as school districts, parents and other attorneys via telephone, email, and/or in person;
  • Attend mediations, hearings and resolution sessions and other meetings;
  • Perform legal research, review client documents, draft legal document and correspondence;
  • Maintain excellent client relationships by way of phone, email and virtual platforms and/or in person;
  • Interface professionally with all members of the firm
  • Prepare for each phase of litigation in a thorough and detailed manner;
  • Assist Attorneys with evolving tasks and responsibilities and substituting in, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Active member of the California State Bar.
  • Resides and is located in the Los Angeles or Inland Empire areas.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience representing clients in Special Education law.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws related to Special Education, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Excellent written, communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated legal team.
