E
ssential Functions and Objectives:

P
rovides Spanish interpretation and schedules requests for interpretation. Assigns and tracks interpretation requests and handles invoicing, reporting, data entry, equipment coordination/support and record keeping. Coordinates equipment for simultaneous interpretation assignments and maintains interpretation equipment and inventory in good conditions.

  • Performs Spanish consecutive or simultaneous interpretation throughout the District when assigned.
  • Effectively and accurately schedules District and school interpretation meeting assignments as requested by clients; follows-up with questions and clarifications when necessary.
  • Provides the highest level of customer service with clients, independent contractors and interpretation agencies working with the District.
  • Maintains confidentiality of student, parent or family member information.
  • Holds staff and or vendors accountable for arriving on time and assigning interpretation requests in a timely manner.
  • Executes accurate coordination and preparation of interpretation equipment for simultaneous interpretation meetings with the assigned independent contractors or agencies.
  • Performs administrative activities such as invoicing, record keeping and reporting as needed.

K
nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience as a formal interpreter (educational setting is preferred).
  • Formal Interpretation Training.
  • Strong experience in Information/Technology systems.
  • Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license and car with appropriate insurance.
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office/Google products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs. Google Sheets, Google Slides.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.
  • Work collaboratively with others on a team.
  • High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.
  • Flexibility working hours, especially during busy months with a higher need to work extended hours and in some rare occasions must be available on weekends.

E
ducation Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 80 hours of interpreter training (Bridging the Gap, The Community Interpreter etc.).
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
