Non Tenure-Track Faculty Position
Three Year Renewable Appointment
Asbury Theological Seminary announces a faculty search for an Assistant Professor of Ministry Formation Bilingual Spanish/English. This position will be part of Asbury Seminary Global which includes teaching online and hybrid courses at one of the instructional sites of Asbury Seminary. The purpose of this position is to teach general ministry formation classes in our bilingually delivered Master of Arts in Ministry Degree, including courses in ministry, discipleship, preaching, and leadership. Additionally, this person will invest significant time in networking and recruitment activity which supports the strategic plan of the Asbury Latino Center. The equivalent of a two course-load reduction will be provided for the fulfillment of this expectation.
Preferred candidates will demonstrate passion for cultivating relationships, training opportunities and connections for Latino/a leaders and their communities; will exhibit excellent communication skills; have experience in local church ministry; and have the ability to nurture healthy global partnerships. The applicant should have a PhD or terminal degree in a discipline in the area of practical theology. Fluency in Spanish is required.
The normal teaching load for this faculty position will be four courses (twelve hours) per year, as determined by the Dean of the E. Stanley Jones School of Mission and Ministry in collaboration with the Executive Director of Academic Affairs of the Asbury Latino Center. Candidates must possess pedagogical/andragogical competencies and effectiveness in teaching in face-to-face, online, and hybrid course instruction. Course load is established by the needs of the E. Stanley Jones School of Mission and Ministry with input from the Asbury Latino Center.
